Important Notice for Travelers to Saudi Arabia: Updated Vaccination Requirements

The Saudi government has introduced updated vaccination requirements for travelers planning to visit the Kingdom starting February 10, 2025. These regulations are mandatory and aim to ensure the safety and health of both visitors and residents. Below is a detailed guide to help travelers comply with these new directives.

1. Polio Vaccination Certificate:

Mandatory for All Travelers:

  • From February 10, 2025, all travelers to Saudi Arabia must present a valid Polio Vaccination Certificate.

Timing of Vaccination:

  • The polio vaccine must be administered at least four weeks (28 days) before the travel date.

Exceptions for Early Vaccinations:

  • Travelers who received the polio vaccine on or before January 13, 2025, can use their certificates after February 9, 2025. These certificates will remain valid for six months from the date of vaccination.

2. Meningitis Vaccination Certificate:

Quadrivalent Meningococcal Meningitis (ACWY) Vaccine:

  • In addition to the polio vaccine, travelers must also obtain a Meningitis Vaccination Certificate.

Timing of Vaccination:

  • The ACWY vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before the traveler’s departure date.

3. Important Advice for Travelers:

Plan Vaccinations in Advance:

  • Ensure that the polio vaccination certificate is issued at least four weeks before your travel date. Check your certificate’s issuance date to avoid any issues at the time of departure.

4. Reassess Travel Plans if Necessary:

  • If your vaccination date does not meet the four-week requirement, it is strongly advised to reschedule your travel plans. This will help you avoid disruptions at the airport or denial of entry into Saudi Arabia.

5. Stay Updated and Prepared:

  • These updated vaccination guidelines are a critical part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to safeguard public health. Travelers are encouraged to comply with these requirements and plan to ensure a smooth travel experience.

Note: Always consult the official Saudi government websites or trusted travel advisory services for the latest updates and requirements before planning your trip.
