Booking Umrah Appointments: A Crucial Step for Smooth Umrah Performance

Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami, the Director of Public Security, recently spoke about the importance of booking an Umrah appointments on the Nusuk or Tawakkalna applications for performing Umrah. He urged pilgrims to adhere to the appointment dates as this is crucial to ensure the smooth organization of the pilgrimage. Al-Bassami also assured that the available number of appointments is sufficient to accommodate the large number of pilgrims coming to Saudi Arabia for Umrah during the Ramadan season.

This Ramadan season has seen one of the highest influxes of Umrah pilgrims from around the world. Due to the pandemic, many Umrah pilgrims had to delay their plans for a long time. This has led to a large number of pilgrims making their Umrah plans this year, causing a bottleneck in the system. With the soaring prices of Umrah packages and the uncertainty of getting an ideal appointment, the situation is making it difficult for thousands of pilgrims.

In Press conference:

At a press conference of the commanders of the Umrah security forces in Makkah, Al-Bassami informed that the entire mataf has been allocated to the pilgrims in coordination with the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques. This year, the first floor, third Saudi expansion, and external courtyards of the Grand Mosque, as well as the roof of mataf, have been allocated for worshipers.

Safety of Pedestrians:

To ensure maximum safety, Al-Bassami mentioned that the entry and exit passages of the Grand Mosque have been reorganized. He added that the First Ring Road would be fully utilized to implement crowd management mechanisms and separate vehicles from pedestrians. He also announced the readiness of the Umrah security plans for implementation, starting from the first day of Ramadan, with the support and guidance of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif.

Al-Faraj, the Acting Director of Civil Defense, announced the completion of security and safety plans to receive pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque during Ramadan. He mentioned that the General Directorate of Civil Defense carried out approximately 5000 inspection tours during the last two months to ensure the completion of necessary permits and other requirements for residences and facilities used by pilgrims.

In conclusion, with the high influx of Umrah pilgrims this Ramadan season, the Saudi authorities have made extensive efforts to ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims. The allocation of the entire mataf and the reorganization of entry and exit passages of the Grand Mosque will provide ample space for the pilgrims to perform their rituals. With strict implementation of crowd management mechanisms, the Saudi authorities are all set to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the pilgrims.
